Everyone talks about job searching being so painful but does it have to be? Why can't the job search process be something that you enjoy? This article is here to inspire you to flip your negative views of the job search on its head and instead think about it as something that can be enjoyable. Keep reading for reasons why you should make your job search fun and for ideas to inspire you. 

Why You Should Make Your Job Search Process Fun

There are two big reasons you should make your job search process fun:

1. You will have to do this many times in your life. Why make it into something you dread? 
2. Life should be fun.

How To Make Your Job Search Process Fun

Everyone has a different definition of fun. Figure out what works for you! Here are some ideas to inspire you:

1. Turn it into a game. Give yourself points when you complete a task.

2. Use tools you like. Love spreadsheets? Make a beautiful spreadsheet to track your progress. Check out this interview tracking spreadsheet for inspiration. 

3. Like to experiment with AI? Use AI in the job search process more. Read this article on how to use ChatGPT for your job search for ideas. 

4. Are you a planner? Read my article on making a plan to deal with job search setbacks. 

5. Get a coach. In my opinion, coaches are so motivating and really great for accountability. If you struggle with the accountability piece, working with a coach is a great option.

6. Join a community. This is one of the biggest benefits that Tom and Sarah didn't anticipate with the Aspire MSL program. It is motivating to have people cheering you and helping you build your confidence. 

7. Love to read (or listen)? Read something inspiring about your dream job. The MSL Talk podcast has so many great stories of how people transitioned to the MSL role. 

8. Another one for the planners out there. Take a course on how to land your dream job. Check out the Aspire MSL program. It's your step-by-step blueprint!

9. Set realistic expectations. Reflect on your expectations for the job search and if they are reasonable or not.

Work should be meaningful and something where you feel excited to get up each morning (read this article to get inspired about pursuing an MSL role). The job search is a time when you get to find a job that you are passionate about and that brings you joy. The process of finding that job should also bring you joy!
